Get Crafty With Shotgun Shell Ornaments
Posted on December 19, 2012 by Natalie in just for fun, Natalie's Blog, Style
I made this video before the events at Sandy Hook took place and was set to post it the day of the attack. Out of respect for our nation in mourning, I thought it was best to refrain from posting it for a bit because I believe what we all needed as we cried together was simply silence. I know I am not alone when I say my heart is still broken over our collective loss. I hope, however, that this video and post can be a diversion, if for a moment, to engage in a fun, creative activity to celebrate this holiday season. With that, I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and the Happiest of Holidays.
Love,
Natalie
Send me photos and any other ideas you have! Can’t wait to see! UPDATE: here is a great crafty post from Julie Golob on more firearm-related decorations you can create at home: http://www.juliegolob.com/christmas-fun-on-the-range-easy-ornaments-how-to

Supplies: Shotgun shells, glue (I recommend Gorilla Glue), craft brush, exacto knife, ornament hooks and last but not least… GLITTER!

(Pretty glitter picture. Thanks, Martha Stewart!)

After the shell is dry, carefully cut a little hole near the top of the shell and rotate the blade to make the hole a bit larger. You will then insert the ornament hook in the hole and secure it around the rim of the shell.
