Blush and BulletsWhile serving on the board of directors for the National Wild Turkey Organization, Corina Lopez of Fresno couldn’t quite get her vision across to her male counterparts to bring more women into the fold.

“Once you’re on a board with 16 men, it’s hard to sell them on ideas or projects for women on a monthly basis,” Lopez said. “It was hard for them to grasp that concept.”

She decided she could best educate and expose women to the joys of shooting by starting her own women’s shooting club, and formed Blush and Bullets, a for-profit business.

She said she is tired of women being victimized, and wants to give them confidence and show them they shouldn’t be afraid of guns.

“Our motto is ‘If we can bear children, we can bear arms,’” Lopez said.

Thanks for this article – can’t wait to finish reading it all. I’m also the only woman on a 16-man gun range board where I’m working to promote women’s shooting activities. Wish me luck :0)
