Everybody there knew I belonged, not everybody knew I carried. My shirt snagged on my grip and exposed the thing. Some second great aunt in law or something glanced at it and looked like she might start to panic, so I calmly tugged my shirt back over it and said “it’s ok, I’m licensed to carry it.” She calmed down and seemed to forget all about it. I think just calmly stating that you’re licensed to carry it puts people at ease.
