I thought the author did a reasonable summary of generalized facts for the beginner to chew on. There's so much to know, and there's only so much one can do to enlighten beginners without a classroom environment. Whether we agree with everything he said,(and he definitely has more experience than I do) you have to remember one thing...whatever you get for a self-defense handgun, get some training from a qualified person, and then PRACTICE-PRACTICE-PRACTICE...you have to be capable, comfortable, and familiar with your weapon. The biggest mistake that people can make is to buy a gun, and put it up. You have to stay proficient with it.

I like the blog, but hate this post. Technically, a revolver is a semi-auto too, as they also fire one bullet per trigger pull. Revolvers have a limited capacity? Yeah, but so do semi-autos. Revolvers have a long heavy trigger pull when fired double action? Yeah, but so do semi-autos when fired double action. This post was so poorly written that anyone new to guns will be misled by the lack of clarification throughout.
